Crown Crusher is built around one satisfying verb. You play a powerful lady queen wielding a mighty hammer, moving forward and smashing everything in your path — obstacles to clear the way, treasures to break open, and boxes that may or may not be worth the swing. Gold coins are scattered along the route and gathering as much as possible is the mission. The journey is not without danger, so the game is not purely about swinging: there are things ahead that will punish a queen who commits to a hammer blow at the wrong moment. It is a direct, uncomplicated action game with a clear loop and an obvious appeal.
