Escape Or Die states its terms plainly and then holds you to them. You are in a room, there is a way out, and there is a timer running against you. Getting free means finding clues scattered around the space and applying logic to what they tell you rather than clicking hopefully at everything. The time pressure is what separates it from a more contemplative escape game — you cannot simply sit and think, so the game rewards players who can search systematically while still reasoning about what they have found. It is a compact, unfussy take on the locked-room format with no story wrapped around it and no distractions from the single problem in front of you.
