Space Survivor

Space Survivor drops you straight into a fight against dangerous aliens and asks for two things at once. You attack by moving your character around the screen, so positioning is your weapon rather than a separate aiming input, and the gems that defeated enemies drop have to be collected off the ground — which means walking back into the space you just cleared while more of it is arriving. That collection risk is the game's central tension, because the gems are what pay for upgrading your weapons and abilities, and skipping them makes lasting longer progressively harder. Executing amazing manoeuvres is how the game describes the movement, and there is real satisfaction in a clean pick-up under pressure.
